Designers

There are several different design roles available on a production. The director will normallyhave ideas about how the show should look, so it is often a case of building on these. Whereappropriate, some shows combine posts. For instance the technical director will sometimesact as set designer, and the publicist often doubles as publicity designer. Occasionally aproduction designer is taken on who co-ordinates the design of the whole production, and often takes on the costume and set design roles himself.
