Graphic Designers
A graphic or
publicity designer creates the printed posters and flyers – essential to make people aware of the show. This job is sometimes taken on by the
publicist,
production designer or
producer. Creative ideas are the only prerequisite: it’s not necessary to know any graphics programs back-to-front as there are plenty of helpful computer experts around.
Once the poster is ready in digital form, it needs to be printed. Quotes from different companies are useful as prices differ significantly and fluctuate regularly. Sometimes the
publicity designer is enlisted to
design the programme too: depending on the show this varies from a photocopied slip of paper to a full-colour printed booklet.
