Set Designers
Set designers are responsible for creating an appropriate performing space for the actors. This requires artistic flair in conjunction with an awareness of technical and financial feasibility – the
technical director advises on these practical aspects. Close collaboration with the
lighting designer helps ensure the set ends up looking as it was envisaged. Set designers will normally be involved in painting and decorating the set although on large productions a team of artists may be recruited.
