Accommodation

A common problem for Edinburgh shows is finding suitable accommodation. The following is a list of letting agents that have been used in the past:

It's never too early to try and find Edinburgh accommodation, and don't worry about having to ask for advice. Companies like Factotum and Festival Flats give honest advice about their flats' facilities, distance from the city centre etc. As a guideline, flats sleeping around 8-9 people cost around £900-1000 a week during the festival season, and slightly bigger flats (up to say 14-15 people) cost around £1100-1200. Aim for a flat that's not more than 20-25 minutes walk from the Royal Mile, otherwise there's next to no chance that your company will go out and flyer during the day, and also bear in mind when choosing a flat where your venue is!

Edinburgh is very much a 3d city, with a series of hills and bridges that mean you're not always as close to somewhere as a map would suggest. Again, take this into account when working out how far you are from your venue or the Royal Mile; a flat that's slightly more expensive but 5min closer will improve flyering - and the number of tickets sold - considerably.
