Brickhouse Theatre Company (Robinson)

As well as putting on shows in Robinson’s two venues, the well equipped 230-seater Robinson Auditorium (refitted in Lent 2007) and the beautiful outside amphitheatre, the Maria Björnson Theatre, Brickhouse also use theatres across Cambridge. While traditionally we aim to have one show each term, one of which being a musical, our programme is very flexible. Recent shows have included well known titles such as Grease, Mozart and Salieri, Antigone and The Collector, as well as new writing. Brickhouse is currently producing Much Ado about Nothing in the Maria Björnson Theatre.

Applications for funding shows in non-Robinson venues are welcomed by the society, as are applications to direct in the auditorium and amphitheatre. From time to time we will also help with funding for short films and applications to take shows to the Edinburgh festivals. While we will advertise for specific projects, please feel free to apply speculatively!

Brickhouse is a society of the Robinson College Students’ Association (RCSA) which provides us with a substantial budget. Although many roles are often filled by members of the College, Brickhouse remains very open to members of other colleges and responds positively to all interest expressed. Feel free to get in contact at any time, whatever your interest!
