Cambridge Film Association posted: CINECAM COMMITTEE POSITIONS CLOSE TOMORROW!!!! CINECAM COMMITTEE ELECTIONS First, we are excited to announce that the next presidents of Cinecam will be Patrick Brooks and Kaiti Soultana. We're now starting the application process for 2016/17 committee! All roles will start at the end of this term, and continue until the end of Lent Term 2017. Here are the roles which you can apply for: SECRETARY- In charge of the smooth operation of the society. Organises and keeps records of committee meetings, helps with the creation of the termcard and generally makes sure that everything is going smoothly, both in terms of events and films being shot. This is one of the most important roles in the committee. Organisational skills essential. TREASURER- In charge of the society's finances. Organises sponsorship and financial support for the society, and controls all expenditure. Having spoken to Patrick and Kaiti, the society is looking to expand financially, so is the perfect role for someone up for a challenge. Good organisational skills required, knowledge of budgeting helpful. SPEAKERS OFFICER- In charge of organising all workshops and speakers for the year. Contacts potential speakers and books rooms for the talks, as well as publicising the events. This role is great fun, as you get to meet all of the speakers who come to talk to Cinecam. Previous speakers have included Mike Newell, Nik Powell and RED Cameras. Good organisational and communication skills essential. COLLEGE CO-ORDINATOR- One of the major developments that Kaiti and Patrick are looking to promote over the next year is to increase the presence of filmmaking within colleges by establishing college reps and filmmaking groups within all of the colleges. The Co-ordinator's role is to organise the establishment of these groups, and co-ordinate them with each other and the central Cinecam. This is a new role, so we are looking for someone well-connected, with innovative ideas about how to promote filmmaking in colleges. SOCIAL SECRETARY- In charge of organising all social events for the year, including pub-meets, writers groups, cinema trips and parties. Includes room booking and publicity roles for these events. The ideal social secretary should be well connected and sociable, with good organisational and publicity skills. HEAD OF FILMMAKING- The committee contact for anyone wanting to shoot a film in Cambridge. Looks after and maintains the equipment, and runs classes on filmmaking throughout the year. Also organises the loaning of equipment to Cinecam members throughout the term. Should have a good practical knowledge of different aspects of filming, including writing, directing and cinematography. In particular, should have a good technical knowledge, and be able to use and teach people to use cameras, lights, sound kit and editing software (if there are some gaps in your knowledge, e.g. lighting, that's not a problem- we can give you some training in advance). WEBMASTER- In charge of maintaining and updating the Cinecam website. Also will be in charge of a new initiative to create a database of student filmmakers in Cambridge. Should have some experience in web design. GENERAL MEMBERS- A great way to take part in the organisation of Cinecam without making a big time commitment. Helps the rest of the committee organise events throughout the year, and offers new ideas and proposals at committee meetings. The deadline for all applications is Saturday 13th February at midnight. Please email cinecamfilmmakers@gmail.com with relevant experience and answers to the following questions: 1. Why do you want to apply for the role? 2. What is the role of Cinecam in the University? 3. What can you bring to the role? What changes will you make if appointed? Feel free to apply for multiple roles. If you have any questions, email us at cinecamfilmmakers@gmail.com
