Clare Actors has been one of Clare College's most active and important societies over the last few years, and is continuing to make its name known as one of the leading college drama societies.

Over the past few years we have encouraged and supported productions at the ADC (including a new play, 'The Fire Within' as well as the classic 'The Picture of Dorian Gray'), funded pieces of original writing at the Corpus Playroom (Patrick Garety's 'She's Not There' and Fiammetta Luino's 'If Moliere Walked In the MOMA'), and mounted an annual Shakespearean May Week Show in Clare Gardens (last year 'Henry IV'). The end of every Michaelmas term also sees the Clare College Panto' performed to vocal (and inebriated) acclaim.

One of our strongest priorities is encouraging new writing in Cambridge drama. We are always happy to consider applications to direct new writing, or if you do not feel happy directing, we can find a production team to stage a piece of drama you have written. This committment has been reinforced with the inaugural Clare Actors New Writing Prize.
