Summer Vacation
"The Light" is a sci-fi feature film set in and around Cambridge that focuses on a blind mother and a group of University students who must survive a mysterious alien threat.
We are shooting a "teaser" short and are looking for five actors to play University students in the short. Shooting will take place over a couple of days in late July / early August (depending on actors' availability).
The actors must convey relationships with minimal dialogue so actors with experience in improvising, devising or Meisner technique would be desirable.
Roles are unpaid but all actors will be provided with copies of the completed short. We will be presenting the short to international producers so will be aiming for high production values.
To apply, email haselwimmer@gmail.com for more information. If you happen to have a headshot, a link to your acting profile or an acting CV, that would be really helpful.
The feature script is a collaboration between two screenwriters: Clive Howard and Stefan Haselwimmer (Trinity, 1993; Drama Centre, 2010). Clive's sci-fi short story "The Agency of Ellis" was selected for the LSF's "Impact 50" competition. Stefan was selected for the Creative England Talent Development Scheme, the BFI/BAFTA Crew X talent scheme (2017 - 2018), and has a co-writing credit on Cymru-BAFTA-winning "The List" (directed by Rungano Nyoni). His sci-fi short "The Study" was Short of the Day on Film School Rejects.
