'Cupid', a short play being performed at Smorgasbord, is looking for a DIRECTOR

Cupid is a student-written romantic duologue which will be performed at the upcoming 'Smorgasbord', a showcase of new writing at the Corpus Playroom!

Set in a not-so-distant future, demographic collapse has forced the government to implement a new initiative: Project Cupid. Couples are assigned to one another by an algorithm, engaging in a one-year cohabitation period where they either fall in love or move on to the next assigned partner, but... You only get three chances; else, you are out of the system and denied access to government welfare. Enter Marina and Andrew...

Initially an awkward first date, Cupid turns quickly into an exploration of contemporary dating dynamics, governmental control, queer identities and more! Here is a link to the script to have a read!

Smorgasbord is a great opportunity to get involved with whatever your level of experience, allowing you the chance to flex your creative muscles in a more low-key setting, the perfect project to get involved with at the end of term!
