The Pirates of Penzance at the MinackCUGSS
19:00, Wed 18th – Sat 21st September 2024 at The Minack Theatre
Summer Vacation

Attention opera and theatre lovers, the Cambridge University Gilbert and Sullivan Society are looking for general technicians to take on our large-scale production of the infamous Pirates of Penzance at the Minack theatre in Cornwall in September 2024.

From set building to sound and even backstage during show week you will get a holistic insight into anything and everything technical. We have a strong technical team but we rely on lots of crew members to come down to assist us! Whether you are technically minded or not this is a great opportunity to learn something new so don’t feel like you need to know loads of tech to come along!

To apply, please send a short email to Chris at cambridgeminack@gmail.com. This should include any relevant experience, why you want to come to Minack, and if you have a tech department you particularly would like to assist with. If you have any questions, please do get in touch!

We are looking to take down a maximum of four student general crew with at least one of these reserved for technicians in their first year of study. Applicants with access to a car and are willing to drive whilst we are down in Cornwall will be strongly considered however this will not disadvantage applicants who don’t have access. If either of these are relevant to you please do mention them in your application.

The deadline is Friday 3rd May at 10pm. Please don’t delay in sending in applications though, we are eager to hear from you!
