A series of three playwriting workshops led by Imogen Usherwood, Peter Shaffer Playwright-in-Residence at Trinity College. These are friendly, introductory sessions suitable for those who have never written drama before, or who would like to develop their skills further through an enjoyable mix of writing exercises, readings, and discussions.

They will run as follows. You may attend one, two, or all three sessions:
2nd February: What makes drama? – on conflict, want, and inciting incidents
16th February: What should one write about? – on subject, structure, and how best to tell a story
2nd March: How does one write a play? – on dialogue, character, and practicality

Imogen’s plays have been performed at the Edinburgh Fringe, New Wimbledon Theatre Studio, Tristan Bates Theatre, Oxford Playhouse Studio, and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, among other venues. She has taught writing and performance classes to adults, young people, and students alike. She holds an MSt in Creative Writing from Oxford University, and was described as “one to watch out for in the future” by EdFringe Review.

Workshops will take place in the Junior Parlour (Whewell’s Court) at Trinity College, but members of any college are welcome. Bring a notebook and a pen!
