About Hughes Players
Hughes Players is a new student-run theatre and performing arts society based at Hughes Hall and open to all students from the University of Cambridge. Established in 2022, we are extremely eager to welcome new members. Whether you’re an experienced thespian or brand new to theatre, we are extremely excited to meet you and for you to get involved!

We are passionate about broadening opportunities for theatrical participation to all students, irrespective of gender, race, or sexuality. Whether you want to act, write, direct, produce, stage manage or manage sound and lighting, there is a role for everyone.

The Importance of Being Earnest
2 Dec 2022
After a long hiatus of 18 years, the Hughes thespians are back with another production! Performing on the last day of the Michaelmas term, this is the first attempt of the Hughes Players – a brand new society building on the legacy of the previous HH Theatre Soc – at a festive and humorous spin on the classics by Oscar Wilde.
It is the occasion to be a little overdressed and join our immensely talented cast and crew on this wild ride of romance and identity mysteries... Join us in the cozy Pavilion Room for a night of laughter and adventures!
