The Shadwell SocietyShadwell

The friendly Shadwell committee funds and supports more drama than you can shake a stick at, if that’s your idea of a good time. And as well as funding shows in the Corpus Playroom and the ADC, we regularly send new writing to the Fringe.

Shadwell also has free access to Caius’s surprisingly good Bateman Auditorium, which always boasts about its massive DVD projector, lighting desk, surround sound, and really comfy raked seating. We once had a 24-hour Wagner marathon in there.

Shadwell welcomes enthusiastic people, whatever college they're from and whatever dramatic experience they have.

Shadwell Society seeks writers for new writing showcase

The Shadwell Society is seeking theatre writers  for its new writing program running in Lent and Easter Term 2026. The program will run regular writing sessions in Lent Term, culminating in a new writing showcase in Easter Term. We welcome ideas for theatre shows that are still in early development, as we aim to create a space in which you can write and develop your writing throughout the process.

Contact pl535@cam.ac.uk before 15th Jan 2026 00:00 for more details.
