WANTED: Six Actors for a Readthrough of New German expressionism Play – Sunday 11th January 2026

Playwright Dylan Day is looking for six actors for an exciting readthrough of his new play, Metropolis, loosely inspired by the 1927 German expressionism film of the same name.

Synopsis - Gottfried, the son of the most powerful man in Metropolis, is tasked with uncovering the headquarters of a secret revolution group from The Undercity. He meets a woman named Elna, who transforms his perspective of Metropolis. Meanwhile, Gottfried’s father, Ulrich, has commissioned a scientist whose mind-control machines can solve the crisis of The Undercity. Ultimately, Gottfried must choose between Metropolis or the revolutionaries. His father or Elna.

Metropolis blends absurdity with science-fiction to create Total Theatre.
