Festival of New Writing is looking for writers!

DDS are looking for writers  for the 2026 Festival of New Writing! We are looked for short, student-written plays of 20 minutes or less.

Calling all writers ! Do you have a short play you want to see staged?

Downing’s Festival of New Writing is looking for 9 new student-written plays of 20 minutes in length, to be staged on the 12th, 13th and 14th of March!

The Festival of New Writing is about creativity and experimentation. You can submit one-act plays, monologues, and short scenes. All plays will be put on in the Howard Theatre in front of a live panel of theatre professionals, and you will have the chance to receive feedback and network.

Submit by 16th January 2026!
