Shadwell Society seeks writers for new writing showcase

The Shadwell Society is seeking theatre writers  for its new writing program running in Lent and Easter Term 2026. The program will run regular writing sessions in Lent Term, culminating in a new writing showcase in Easter Term. We welcome ideas for theatre shows that are still in early development, as we aim to create a space in which you can write and develop your writing throughout the process.

The Shadwell Society is seeking theatre writers  for its new writing program running in Lent and Easter Term 2026. The program will run regular writing sessions in Lent Term, culminating in a new writing showcase in Easter Term.

Our aim is to provide a supported writing process in which you will be able to discuss ideas with a small writing group, develop your writing in sessions with professional writers , and have the opportunity to work with other students with interests in theatre tech and production (more info on this soon!).

The projected timeline:

• Applications for writers  are accepted on a rolling basis until the Lent Term begins in January 2026.
• Writing rooms throughout Lent Term, with some sessions facilitated by professional writers .
• Creation of the showcase in Easter Term with plans to use a Caius venue.
