The Pembroke Players are looking for an Artistic Director - BME applicants only!
The Pembroke Players are looking for someone to take over the role of Artistic Director !!! This would consist of joining the Pembroke Players committee from January to June 2026, to help us out with the second half of our 70th anniversary year. Please note that in keeping with the Pembroke Players emphasis on diversity in Cambridge theatre, this role is reserved for BME applicants only.
The artistic director role is an excellent opportunity to get involved with all aspects of the Pembroke Players, and it is a super exciting and flexible role! We’re looking for someone who can offer their creative input to our term of more experimental and unusual student writing, helping advise our directors and the committee members who oversee our shows. The role will consist of overseeing the variety of shows we put on as a committee, helping with our projects as a committee (including organising our 70th anniversary year), and attending weekly committee meetings. Our artistic director plays a key role in creating the overall creative theme of each term, as well as helping to ensure that our termcard maintains the values of the committee, with an emphasis on student writing, experimental theatre, and making theatre accessible to all students. In keeping with this, we encourage applicants who haven’t been involved in much theatre yet to apply!
To apply for the role, please send us (presidents Flossie - frb33, and Louisa - lh885) an email with your name, pronouns, college, and year, as well as your responses to the following application questions:
Why would you like to join the Pembroke Players committee as Artistic Director ?
What makes you a good fit for the role of Artistic Director ?
Do you have any experience (theatrical, or otherwise!) which you think contributes to your ability to fulfil the Artistic Director role? (Experience is totally not essential, just let us know what transferable skills you have!)
We look forward to reading your responses! The deadline for applications is 17th January, and please feel free to let us know if you’d like an extension or have any questions!!
Contact frb33@cam.ac.uk lh885@cam.ac.uk before 17th Jan 2026 23:59 for more details.
