Directors? Programme #2
"WORKING WITH PROFESSIONAL ACTORS"

What is it like to work with people who have been rigourously trained in drama school? Join professional actors Sam Callis and Sarah Hansey in a hands on directing
session. We will be working on the opening scene of Tom Stoppard?s 'The Real Thing'. It?s in the English Faculty library (2 copies E 84 STO 1), the UL (West Room: 1986.8.2136, 1982.8.2881, 1983.7.2582) and Borders will most
probably have it, if you fancy having a look at it before the session. You don?t need to have any clear ideas about what you would do with the piece....

A bit on the actors: Sam Callis played Ferdinand in the Derek Jacobi Tempest at Sheffield Crucible and the Old Vic. He has also been a member of Ed Hall's Propeller Company, playing Antipholus in Comedy of Errors, Aguecheek in Twelfth Night, and most recently Titania in A Midsummer Night's Dream on Broadway. Sam was also a regular in London's Burning for two years. Sarah Tansey has worked extensively in theatre in London and in regional theatre. She did a season at the Orange Tree Theatre, a season at Regent's Park playing Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Ursula in Much Ado, and played Regine in Ghosts in the West End.
Sarah has been a regular in Heartbeat for the past two years.
