Watersprite is the UK's largest international student film festival and the second-largest in the world. Watersprite returns for its 15th iteration from 1–3 March 2024, with a range of exciting events in the buildup!
Every March we offer a weekend of free screenings, networking sessions, masterclasses and Q&As with Academy-Award winning speakers like Olivia Colman, Sir Lenny Henry, Mike Leigh and Eddie Redmayne. The festival showcases student creative talent from around the world – in 2023, over 1500 films were submitted to the festival from 106 countries!
15 years on from its inception in 2009, it is bigger than ever. Watersprite is led by a team of 50 students from the University of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin University and chaired by multi-award winning producer and first female chair of BAFTA, Hilary Bevan Jones. Watersprite is also the most accessible film festival in the world, providing - removing barriers to the creative industries for everyone.
