Auditions for Dryden Scratch Night are now Open!!! (And they're soon!)

Become a part of a brilliant night of student writing! Auditions Friday and Saturday 6th and 7th of November.

Dryden Scratch Night is a series of six 5-7 minute extracts from bits of student writing. You would act in one of these, and get to kick back and enjoy the other five. See below the deets.

We have a wide range of extracts, so are casting for a range of parts. There are some fairly intense monologues and duologues for actors looking to challenge themselves, as well as light-hearted group scenes for actors that want the experience without too much individual pressure. You can read through some example extracts in the attached audition pack, and then apply for either an individual audition or a group audition based on which kind of extract you would prefer to be in.

Time: Friday 27th of November. You would need to be free for that evening, and that’s the only requirement!

Rehearsal commitment: depending on the play and director you get. It should be around the 5 hour mark total, but might be slightly larger or smaller depending on your role.

How the auditions work: See the below form. Auditions are Friday or Saturday. Audition in a group audition or an individual audition. Read an extract of your choice, then we will make you read another extract, and that’s all! You audition for all of them in a general audition, then we will assign you one.

Venue: Trinity’s Winstanley Lecture Theatre, a good quantity of seating and a decent sized stage.

Self-tapers send us you doing one of the extracts of your choice to drydensoc@gmail.com by Sunday 8th November, 9pm. Include your name and crsid in the email, and do the form too!
