Secreting is going to Edinburgh Fringe!

Starting its life as a single duologue at a scratch night in 2022, Secreting is the debut project of student writer Maya Marie.

Maya has since expanded the project into a series of five duologue episodes, exploring all corners of this chaotic, comedic and 'uncannily accurate' (The Tab) house party. Spotlighting intimate conversations that take place on the peripheries, we see characters shoot and miss miserably as they struggle to surpass the bubble boundaries of selfhood and connect with others. Creating 'nostalgic and honest ... excruciating and thrilling' (Varsity) drama out of the–seemingly–most basic of human interactions, nostalgia meets abjection and mundanity spills imperceptibly into danger.

Presented in its first iteration at the Corpus Playroom, Cambridge in May 2023, it received rave reviews from The Tab (4.5/5) and Varsity (4/5).

Following this success, we are now bringing the play to the Edinburgh Fringe. An exciting mixture of comedy and drama, prioritising queer narratives and produced by an all-female prod team, we cannot wait to bring this to the stage once again in Edinburgh this August!
