BATSQueens' College Amateur Dramatics Society

BATS is the Amateur Dramatics Society of Queens' College, Cambridge that has been entertaining audiences for over 80 years. It offers a diverse range of productions, from classic plays to contemporary works, and is run entirely by students, creating a supportive and collaborative environment for everyone involved.

We are fortunate to have the use of one of the best performance spaces in Cambridge: the Fitzpatrick Hall. This is a modern, well-equipped venue with a capacity of 208, and options for smaller performances as well. Our renowned May Week Show takes place around Queens' College, ensconced between some of the oldest buildings on the Cam.

If you're interested in getting involved with BATS, there are regular auditions and workshops, providing opportunities for actors and those interested in behind-the-scenes roles.

✧•̀๑●o Are you a singer?! BATHWATER IS LOOKING FOR A CHOIR (and a soloist!) o●๑•̀✧

We are looking for talented, committed singers to be part of the choir that feature throughout Bathwater. We’re aiming to create a dream-like atmosphere through a tapestry of both live and pre-recorded music and sound, as old memories and myths resurface in the characters’ minds. The choir will sing five pieces onstage - a mixture of liturgical music, simpler melodies, and layered arrangements of Mitski’s song ‘Pearl Diver’. The choir will be spotlighted whenever they are singing and, in the play’s central scene, they will act as a synagogue congregation. We are looking primarily for tenor, baritone, and bass voices as some of the liturgical music is written specifically for male vocalists. However, we are also looking for sopranos, mezzos, and altos to sing in the other pieces, so please get in touch whatever your voice type! We would love to hear from singers of all experience levels - whether you’re a choir scholar or just enjoy singing. The musical style of the pieces really suits having a variety of different voices and levels. We are also looking for one soloist - more details in the application pack below!
