AUDITIONS are open for 'quickening', a piece of new writing going to the Lion & Unicorn Theatre, Kentish Town as part of the Camden Fringe Festival this August!
A short synopsis of the play: Quickening is the narrative of three abortions - Lina and Josey find themselves in the same ward in 1972, a few years after the legalisation of abortion in the UK. In 2011, Lina’s daughter Darla faces a similar situation to her mother, putting a strain on their relationship and causing Lina to recall the emotional and social consequences of the abortion she had years before, as she struggles to adapt to Darla’s contemporary politics.
