Love's Labour's Lost is looking for a CAST!

Auditions are now open for BATS' May Week Show, Love's Labour's Lost! We are looking for a cast of 15 playful and comedic actors to bring Shakespeare's satirical indulgement of language, lessons and lovers to life!

Auditions will take place in the Queens’ College Fitzpatrick Hall Greenroom on the 27th and 28th of April. Please use the form in the audition pack to book yourself one 15 minute slot. If these times don’t work for you, I am also accepting self-tape submissions until midnight on the 28th of April. There will likely also be a round of callbacks in the following days. Before you sign up, please ensure you will be available on the 19th-21st of June for our performances which will all be matinees.

Casting is genderblind so please feel free to choose whichever extract speaks to you the most regardless of casting types. As always, BATS is committed to diversity and inclusion, and encourages performers of all experience levels. Whether you are completley new to Shakespeare and performance or a long-time fanatic, please don’t hesitate to get involved!

Please prepare one of the audition extracts attached below - do familiarise yourself with the words, but there is no need to be completely off book. I have provided a gloss of character and context, but I am really keen to see your instincts and style so I encourage you to lead with your own interpretation and allow your personality shine through where relevant. I am using a small selection of speeches by the leading characters to inform my casting choices for all characters, but if you are familiar with the play and would like to choose a particular monologue (under 2 mins) from the script, I am more than happy for you to do so!
