Auditions for Vigil

Shadwell Society are reopening auditions for ‘Vigil’ a new play featured in the Shadwell Showcase of New Writing on 19th June.

Vigil explores themes about the nature of the divine, religion, revenge, suffering,
existentialism and family.

An old woman, Irma, lies dying of illness when her estranged adopted son Kázmér appears.
Kázmér cares for her, and their conversation slowly reconstructs a shared past shaped by
fear, faith, and cruelty, especially surrounding Margit, Irma’s daughter, a woman they both
loved.

As this is a short show and exam term this is a low pressure way to get involved in some amazing new theatre work!

Auditions will be held in-person 11-24th May and self-tapes will also be accepted!
