The Marlowe Society is excited to be opening nominations for President for its 2026-2027 Committee.

The Committee will vote on the Nominations. Two Co-Presidents will be selected for the 2026-2027 Committee, who will preside as a pair. If you know that another applicant would make a good pair with your application, you may indicate that in your application in the relevant question below, but please offer a standalone application in any case.

Presidential responsibilities:

Running fortnightly committee meetings and overseeing business of the society, prioritising its ethos of providing gateways into the creative industries for Cambridge students, as well as support a lively environment of theatre at Cambridge.
Liaising with Marlowe Fellows on society updates, sharing Committee minutes and meeting times.
Running a Freshers' Fair stall, together with the Committee.
Overseeing publicity in liaison with the Communications Officer.
Delegating tasks to the Committee and overseeing that they get completed in time.
Being prepared to step in as Associate Producer on Showcase, Arts Show, and the Marlowe Show (formerly BME Shakespeare) in case the projects require it.
Liaising with the Treasurer on opening funding applications and funding shows, keeping yearly accounts in check, and re-registering the society, always prioritising the financial health of the Society.
Judging The Other Prize in conjunction with Churchill College.
Being responsive to feedback on shows such as Showcase and Arts Show and ensuring our interactions with the professional world maintain the reputation of the society.
