              CAVITY NEEDS A COSTUME DESIGNER

Are you drawn to the raw, haunting aesthetic of the American South? Do you thrive in worlds where faith, fanaticism, and family secrets collide? Cavity is a bold retelling of Shakespeare’s tragedy, set in a decaying Southern town ruled by a self-proclaimed prophet—where the costumes must whisper of devotion, decay, and defiance. We Need a Designer Who Can: Evoke Gothic-Americana – Think worn hymnals, sun-bleached denim, and the eerie contrast of Sunday best against dirt-poor survival. Mirror Character Journeys – From Joan’s hardened resilience to Beau’s false sanctity, each costume should tell a story of oppression and rebellion. Blend the Sacred and the Rotting – This world is equal parts revival tent and bloodstained soil—how do the clothes reflect that tension?

                CAVITY NEEDS A CAST!

Cavity is a fierce, unapologetic retelling of Macbeth—where female defiance, family tyranny, and the fight for freedom collide in a decaying Southern town. Fed up with narrow roles for people of colour and women, I wrote Cavity to break molds. Joan isn’t docile or palatable. She’s furious, complex, and fighting back. This is a story of ambition, betrayal, and survival, where the stakes are personal and the power struggles cut deep. We’re bringing this reckoning to the Corpus Playroom and want YOU in it. If you crave raw, demanding roles: full of vulnerability, rage, and truth—audition. Let’s tell this story together. The cast is small with only six characters - Joan, Beau, Catherine, Dolly, Rain, and Billy- but each is unique with their own tale of heartbreak.
