Addenbrooke’s Charity Pantomime 2026: The 12 Sign-Offs of Hercules – Persephone

19:30, Wed 28th – Sat 31st January 2026 at Robinson Theatre, Hills Road Sixth Form

Not so long ago, in the nearby land of Addenbrooke's hospital, there was a dark age of busy schedules and burned out doctors. And the busiest and most burned out of all these doctors was the lonely HERCULES.

It has been TWO YEARS since Hercules became a doctor. Coincidentally, it has also been TWO YEARS since Hercules felt happy. The drudgery of the foundation programme has Hercules feeling low. Is this all medicine has to offer? Does any of this mean anything? Will I ever feel like I belong? These are the doubts that plague Hercules while he's bored out of his mind pretending to pay attention to his patients.

The cynical consultant HADES knows the answer: yes, no, and no. He secretly gets Hercules struck off the medical register to spare him from any more misery. Unfortunately, instead of finding a rewarding and fulfilling career in a different profession, Hercules just ends up back in clinical school. When he signed up for lifelong learning, he didn't know this was what it meant.

The only thing that gets Hercules through another three years of the spiral curriculum is the hope that he will one day find meaning. But to find meaning, Hercules must become a TRUE DOCTOR.

But what is the measure of a TRUE DOCTOR?

All proceeds go to the Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust and Cambridge Rare Disease Network, so your laughter helps patients too.
