˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ SAVITRI is looking for a PROD TEAM! ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗

Savitri, Holst's only completed opera of Indian origin, is looking for a prod team! We are looking to fill the roles of Co-Producer , Assistant Director , Choreographer , Costume Designer , Intimacy Coordinator, Welfare, Publicity.

We are endeavouring to put on an opera in Michaelmas term which bridges the divide between Western and South Asian cultures with as much BME/South Asian representation in our cast and crew as possible. Come join our production this November - an intimate performance of Gustav Holst's Savitri with a small cast of three principals and a chorus of six. This is an opportunity for us to create a space that celebrates BME/South Asian contributions to art in Cambridge and will be accompanied by performances in music and dance surrounding the opera!

The production team is full of roles that would benefit from insight from all cultures, and we as a team are very excited to make this a passion project that carves out space to celebrate diversity at Cambridge. This is Holst’s only opera of Indian origin to be completed, despite his lifelong fascination with the mythology. It has an intimate cast, inspired instrumentation, and we hope to bring it to life with colour and vibrancy this November!
