AUDITION FOR CLOWN SEX PLAY 🩻🦷

Looking for four wild and passionate actors for this surreal play.

What is this?
This is an hallucinogenic, lyrical, partly comic play working the tradition of the Theatre of the Absurd. The script explores fetish, sex and the illusion of consent following the latent perversion of the sexual liberation of the 1970s. In an age of surveillance and AI pornography, balanced with the resurgence of the stay-at-home-wife: what is consent? Fragmented, alienating, nonlinear, impersonal and explicit, the play showcases how an overexposure to violent sex renders us oversaturated by it.

The play sees the rotation and interaction between four nameless characters including a clown. It opens with the creation of a film about sexual liberation, which turns into an uncanny and deeply surreal experience as the videographer struggles with the grasp of their own internal narrative and identity. The play should feel Lynchian, uncomfortable, and bewildering. I want to use screens showing home-movie film and live playback exploring motifs of narrative control and surveillance.
