Hi! My name is India and I’m looking for a director  for a 20min piece at the Downing Festival of New Writing.

‘Deprogramming’ is a one-act play that takes place in real time. It follows a male ‘doctor’ attempting to deprogramme a cult member while a female student observes. It’s a mix of drama and comedy that plays on different tensions between the characters and the authorities they hold: knowledge, position, gender etc. The piece also considers what defines a cult, opening with the doctor explaining the different principles of cults but also exploring where different religions or fandoms fall.
