Auditions are open for Iolanthe at the Minack Theatre!

Cambridge University Gilbert and Sullivan Society's 'Iolanthe' at the Minack Theatre is looking for a cast!

Pardoned by the Fairy Queen for her crime of marrying a mortal, Iolanthe returns to Fairyland to find all in disarray. Her son Strephon, fairy only from the waist up, loves Phyllis, the Lord Chancellor’s Ward in Chancery, who finds herself beset on all sides by eligible lords and politicians vying for her hand in marriage. Can Iolanthe help Strephon and the formidable fae overcome the machinations of the Lord Chancellor and his posse of persistent peers, or will Strephon and Phyllis remain apart forever?

CUG&S Society's Iolanthe at the Minack Theatre is a unique opportunity in September for performers and creatives to take part in a three-week theatrical residential in Cornwall. We will rehearse for two weeks together, and then perform at the beautiful Minack Theatre, an open-air theatre built on a cliff-edge with a stunning ocean backdrop. It's going to be a magical time!
