DDS Committee is opening for a TECHNICAL DIRECTOR!!!

DDS are excited to be opening a new position on committee for a Technical Director ! This is an incredible opportunity to be a part of Downing's vibrant theatre scene, working as a part of the executive committee to lead the technical direction of committee productions and events. Both a creative and administritive role, the successful candidate will showcase an interest in working with directors  to help meet their vision for their show, particularly through lighting and sound design, as well as with committee to have an active say in the shows and events put on by DDS throughout the year. Candidates do NOT have to have technical experience to consider applying for this role - just an enthusiasm to learn and be invovled with the technical side of theatre!

Your responsibilities as Technical Director  would include (but not be limited to):

• Becoming trained on the Howard Theatre's technical equipment.
• Running workshops and training both new and experienced techies to use the Howard Theatre's technical equipment.
• Help productions find techies willing to design and tech their shows (including lighting / sound designing).
• Be the technical lead for shows where other techies are not available.
• Fulfil all other obligations required by committee members.
