Elephant: Mentions of Discrimination/Bigotry
Raindrops on a White Pear Blossom: Mentions of Mental/Physical Abuse
Blank Canvas is a celebration of longer-form new writing works in development, platforming new and underrepresented voices in the theatre scene. With support from the Fletcher Players committee, Blank Canvas is proud to present semi-complete stagings of new works that deserve to be seen by Cambridge audiences. Blank Canvas has a different show on every night - follow Fletcher Players on social media for further announcements.
TUESDAY - 'Lola'
Three travellers. No sleep. No eyelids. Nightmares begin, and they don’t stop when eyes are open.
Lola cuts deep.
WEDNESDAY - 'A Bit of Trouble at Work'
What happens when a wave I’m riding suddenly turns to crash into me? And that wave consists of spiraling, fighting lawyers? Help!
THURSDAY - 'Raindrops on a White Pear Blossom'
It's the child's turn to play the mother. It's the mother's turn to play the rebel. When is it time let go?
FRIDAY - 'Elephant'
Adult is about to meet her 17 year old self and she's terrified. She hasn't done half the things her younger self thought she would by her age but there are two glaringly big issues: she's plus-sized and queer. Elephant explores our relationship with our bodies, who we expect to be, and who we won’t let ourselves be.
