Girton College Music Society presents an original chamber opera! This hour-long, single-act production follows a particularly chaotic afternoon in government as a flustered Cabinet Minister grapples with the re-emergence of the White Feather Campaign (a movement designed to shame conscientious objectors) at the beginning of the Second World War. Couched in a warm tonal language, Plumes of Smoke promises comedy and tragedy, satire and thrill in equal measure.
