22:00, Mon 1st – Sun 28th August 2011 at Edinburgh Fringe 2011 - Just The Tonic Caves
This is a chance to work on one of the most ambitious projects ever to emerge from the ADC. Having taken the theatre by storm last year, this epic comedy's next target is the Edinburgh Fringe. The primary challenge of the show will be using technical innovation to recreate action film sequences within the context of an Edinburgh Fringe budget. This technical role will be genuinely crucial to some of the funniest and most stand-out parts of the show, as it was last time around. Any techie interested in a challenge and wanting to go to the Fringe with an exciting comedy project should apply. This was the fastest selling ADC Lateshow in history, and we’re aiming for just as spectacular a run in Edinburgh.
This summer, evil has a face. And a torso. And legs—its basically a man. Dr Apocalypse™— twisted Nazi communist and minor academic. His plan: to destroy America—by blowing up the world. Only one man can stop him: government agent Jack Lang™ – gun-toting, torture-loving maverick and devoted father.
Watch as this new breed of hero fires two Uzis at the same time, drives a car down a flaming skyscraper, and takes on an army of 4000 cyborg ninjas—while occasionally mentioning his emotions™. And that’s just the tip of the explosion.
Written by Footlights veterans Lucien Young and James Moran, we guarantee: state-of-the-art CGI, creating almost photorealistic performances— at least two fights per line of dialogue—and more gunshots than were used during both world wars.
