A Comprehensive Understanding is looking for a state comprehensive-educated Sound Designer, Lighting Designer, Deputy Stage Manager and Welfare Officer

The Cambridge Footlights Presents: A Comprehensive Understanding - the state-educated sketch show - is returning to Cambridge and needs Assistant Directors  to help write and direct sketches.

This show aims to platform state comprehensive (i.e non-selective/non-grammar) school educated students to give them the best start in Cambridge comedy possible! A Comprehensive Understanding looks to platform everything funny, bizarre and down-right ridiculous about the state school experiences of 93% of the UK’s student population.

We’re particularly looking for freshers to make up the majority of the cast and crew for the show (though we are open to applications from any state comprehensive schoolers new to the Cambridge comedy scene). You’ll get to work together to write, workshop and produce sketches and present them in a 3-night run at the ADC Theatre! This is a great first opportunity to learn about all things ADC Theatre, what goes in to putting on a show, and will leave you in a brilliant position for whatever you go on to do in Cambridge theatre (comedy or otherwise) next!

No experience is required to be any of our tech roles, and we will have experienced people on hand to teach and support you! Our technical team are very welcome to be a part of writing and rehearsal sessions too.
