Odd Couple: An Evening with Noël Coward & Howard Pinter brings together two of the most celebrated mid-century playwrights like never before. Coward’s ‘Blithe Spirit’ and Pinter’s ‘Night School’ are two sides of the same coin: a look at the uncanniness behind domestic life. Set in 1960s London, the families in both plays find their aspirations coming unstuck thanks to seedy, or spooky influences. By turns, witty, unsettling, mannered, and menacing, this double bill shows the surprising connection between two playwrights of seemingly opposing styles.
